So our next step in the New York Musical Theatre Festival is....waiting. And waiting. And waiting. We expect to hear by the end of this month, but that feels a long way away.
To pass the time, we're learning as much as we can about what we'll need to do should we be accepted. Most of these things will involve raising money (and figuring out how much, and how to get it), but also adding some people to our team, like designers and a general manager.
We've also learned our official chances of getting in to the festival. We're one of 23 shows chosen to be finalists, and 10 shows will be selected for the NYMF Next Link program. So roughly 43% of the shows get in.
We're already a part of a pretty select group, and feel honored to have gotten this far. But we're really hoping to go all the way to the festival. We'll find out, in 15 (short??) days.
